What Goes Through An Aspergers Boy's Mind While At Church - Autism Humor

You thought your Asperger's son listened to the Sunday morning sermons -- didn't you? Think again!

Our services are more contemporary, which we all like, but the singing does get too loud for my son at times. Before a recent move, he'd started helping out running the video and sound system. That job was perfect for him...learning all that new technology...
Anonymous said... I don't see why this is just limited to a child with Aspergers....Or children for that matter....I'd have very similar thoughts if made to sit and listen to that lot!
Anonymous said... I LOVE this!! Very true for us with our son at Church except he often yells out what he's thinking;)
Anonymous said... isn't that what every child thinks while in church …LOL?
Anonymous said... This is so my son too...he doesn't want to go but when we get there he won't go out with all the kids...he plays his iPod or DS...I think he listens and takes it in cause sometimes he comes out with stuff afterwards...
Anonymous said... This is so my son, he doesn't want to sit in service but doesn't want to go with the kids either.
Anonymous said... this is so not my son. He can color play quietly with his cars and then when pastor asks a question without skipping a beat he is on his feet with his hand up wanting to answer the question. If he gets to then he goes back to what he was doing.
Anonymous said... this was spot on! If I can even get him there, that is.
Anonymous said... Yep, mine doesn't think it, he says it out loud! And don't forget...'how much longer?' Ugh! While mom is thinking 'Lord, please keep me from strangling my child this day!'
